The Jaeger Eye Lid Plate is an ophthalmic instrument that is placed between the scleral and corneal surfaces and the eyelid’s conjunctive. Its shape resembles the shoehorn, so it is also called a “Shoehorn retractor.” It helps protect the eyeball while performing a procedure on the eyelid.
